The Skin Manager allows you to inspect, install, update and delete skins on a sakai instance.
Inspect, install, update and delete skins. Skins can be uploaded using a zip file format. A skin archive keeps track of the skins by including the installation history of the skins in the archive, so every version of the installed history is available for reversion. Never loose any skin-data.
To try the skin manager, you should join the Skin Manager site and each of the skin playground sites. You can try skins on you own workspace by clicking on Skin Selector in the site menu. To show your skins to others, you can change the skin of one of the skin playground sites.

The Invite Tool makes it easy for teachers and administrators to create users and make them a member of sites.
Two versions of the tool exist: Invite Participants and Invite Users. One is for teachers to invite participants to their site and one for administrators to join multiple users into multiple sites.
The Invite Users version of the tool is expected to be added to the Administration Workspace and used by an administrator. Instead of adding users to the Administration Workspace itself, this version of the tool can join users into multiple sites. Users receive a separate e-mail for each new membership
The Invite Participants version of the tool is expected to be added to a normal course or project site and would normally be used by a teacher. This version of the tool invites users to the site that the tool runs on. The teacher can edit the e-mails sent to the new users, but some other settings are only editable by an administrator. One such setting is what account type a new user gets. Administrators may also set one site that all users are to become a member of automatically, like a site that all students in a department must join.

The Knowledge Base Tool is a complete knowledge base application that replaces the help-function of Sakai. It is context sensitive to sites, tools, permissions, level of experience, and it features a Lucene/Solr search engine.
As organizations implement Sakai, many choices are made concerning the tools, user types and permissions that are used. Many instances are also customized to specific local needs, audiences or application areas. This makes most instances unique. The usecase for the development of the KB tool is to enable multi-level and context aware end-user support.
If you want to see the Knowledge Base work, click on any help icon on the pages you visit. If you want to author content, create an account for yourself and join the Knowledge Base Demo site, in which you will have sufficient permissions to start creating your own articles.
The Community Manager can create pre-configured admin workspaces for delegated adminstration at the level of faculty, schools or communities.
The community manager was developed as an administrator tool to create delegated admin workspaces. Delegated admin workspaces allow course administrators at faculty level to create and maintain new sites, without accessing the general administration workspace. Another objective is to simplify the creation and maintenance of sites by using pre-configured template sites for project and courses.
By using the federated admin workspace, each member of that site can maintain all sites created with this workspace, and sites outside the department will not be visible in the worksite setup tool.
